Job Description
Cyrus Recruitment Ltd is a fast-growing, Leeds-headquartered recruitment agency specialising in warehouse and logistics talent across the North of England. Due to a significant uptick in client demand and our own internal expansion, we are actively seeking reliable and professional Warehouse Delivery Drivers to join our dedicated pool of logistics staff.
We are not just filling roles – we are building a long-term workforce for our partner distribution centres, retail hubs, and 3PL providers. If you take pride in safe, efficient driving and want to grow with a company that values its people, we want to hear from you. This role involves multi-drop deliveries, stock handling, and acting as the face of our company, client and their customers.
Responsibilities
Safely operate company vans (up to 3.5t) or 7.5-tonne trucks along designated routes across the North of England.
Plan daily delivery schedules efficiently using route-planning software and sat-nav, adapting to traffic or weather delays.
Load vehicles securely at the warehouse, ensuring correct weight distribution and load restraint in line with safety regulations.
Complete accurate pre-use vehicle safety checks (tyres, lights, fluids, brakes) and report any defects immediately.
Deliver goods to commercial and residential addresses, obtaining proof of delivery (POD) via electronic signature or paper dockets.
Handle customer queries professionally on-site and liaise back with the warehouse team regarding any delivery issues or discrepancies.
Maintain accurate driver logbooks, timesheets, and fuel records for compliance purposes.
Assist with basic warehouse duties (sorting, staging, or wrapping pallets) during quiet periods or when scheduled back at base.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Full, clean UK driving licence (Category B minimum; Category C1 or C2 is a distinct advantage).
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card (if driving vehicles over 3.5t).
At least 12 months of proven commercial multi-drop driving experience.
Good geographical knowledge of the North of England (motorways, A-roads, and city centres).
Physically fit – able to repeatedly lift, carry, and move goods up to 25kg.
Strong time-management and communication skills.
Right to work in the UK with no penalty points that preclude commercial driving.
Desirable:
Forklift or reach-truck licence.
Experience using handheld PDA scanners and electronic POD systems.
First Aid at Work certificate.
ADVERT 2: DELIVERY DRIVER’S ASSISTANT
Location: Leeds (covering Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and the wider North of England)
Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent (Weekend shifts available)
Salary: Competitive + Performance Bonus
Description
Cyrus Recruitment Ltd is an ambitious, Leeds-based recruitment agency that has seen exceptional growth over the past 12 months. As we expand our logistics coverage across the North of England, we are looking for energetic and dependable Delivery Driver’s Assistants to support our driving teams on busy multi-drop routes.
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for candidates who want to break into the logistics sector without needing a driving licence. You will be the driver’s “right hand” – ensuring goods are handled correctly, deliveries are completed on time, and customers receive a first-class experience. For the right person, we offer clear pathways to progression, including funded Driver CPC training to become a driver yourself in the future.
Responsibilities
Accompany the Delivery Driver on daily routes, acting as the primary manual-handling support for all deliveries.
Assist with the safe loading and unloading of vehicles at the warehouse and at customer premises.
Manually handle, carry, and position goods (including heavy/bulky items) using proper lifting techniques and provided equipment (sack trucks, pallet jacks).
Check delivery paperwork against physical items before departure to ensure 100% order accuracy.
Engage with customers in a polite and professional manner, helping to move items into hallways, garages, or reception areas as requested.
Communicate with the driver and warehouse controller via mobile device regarding delivery delays, access issues, or vehicle breakdowns.
Keep the vehicle cab and loading area clean, tidy, and organised throughout the shift.
Support the driver with post-route paperwork and returns processing back at the depot.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Physical stamina and strength – must be comfortable with repeated lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours).
A proactive, can-do attitude with excellent reliability and punctuality.
Basic numeracy and literacy – able to check delivery notes and count stock accurately.
Strong teamwork skills – you must work seamlessly with different drivers on rotation.
Flexibility to start early (typically 06:00) and finish when the route is complete.
A valid right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
Previous warehouse, removals, or labouring experience.
Manual Handling or Health & Safety certification.
Familiarity with GPS apps or delivery tracking devices.
A valid UK driving licence (Category B) – not required, but a bonus for covering driver absences.
